República Dominicana recibe al primer embajador residente de Rusia; canciller Roberto Álvarez recibe sus copias de estilo

DIARIO ULTRAMAR, SANTO DOMINGO, RD.- El ministro de Relaciones Exteriores, Roberto Álvarez, recibió este lunes las copias de estilo de las cartas credenciales del embajador designado por la Federación de Rusia, Alexey Victorovich Seredin, quien es el primer jefe de misión diplomática de su país residente en República Dominicana.
Luego de recibir el documento oficial, el canciller Álvarez procedió a dar la bienvenida al nuevo funcionario diplomático y, posteriormente, conversaron sobre temas de interés común para ambas naciones, que este 2025 cumplen 80 años de relaciones diplomáticas.
En el servicio diplomático para su país, el embajador designado Seredin ha desempeñado diversos cargos: estuvo en la Embajada de la Federación de Rusia en Bolivia entre los años 1996-2000; además, fue asesor de la Embajada de la Federación de Rusia en la República Bolivariana de Venezuela en el período 2003–2011; también se desempeñó como subdirector del Departamento de América Latina del 2021-2025.
Anteriormente a su llegada al país, la Embajada de la Federación de Rusia en Venezuela era concurrente a la República Dominicana. El embajador Alexey Victorovich Seredin encabezará la embajada rusa, que por primera vez se instalará en territorio nacional.
El Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores destacó que con la llegada del diplomático ruso, todos los Estados miembros permanentes del Consejo de Seguridad de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas tienen un jefe de misión residente en el país.
En lo adelante, se espera que el embajador designado presente al presidente Luis Abinader las cartas credenciales para ejercer formalmente sus funciones diplomáticas en el país.
